Brazilian Professor invents the solar WiFi access points
The professor Marcelo Zuffa, the University of Sao Paulo has created a prototype of solar powered WiFi access point, placing the device in a lighting pole.
The apparatus, which requires no direct Internet connection or electricity, is being tested but already fully operational. Innovations such as these, which are becoming more common throughout the world, may serve to diminure the enormous differences between rich countries and the inhabitants of the poorest regions who can not afford easy access to the Internet.
Says Professor scuffle
"We had the idea of taking energy that is abundant and cheap, ie the sun, and trying to make .. bits! We have a solar panel, a battery of a motor and a circuit that takes care of energy management in this way, if there is no sun or rain, we un'automonia two days but our goal is to increase to 10 days fno with the project to miniaturize everything and save money at the end we can imagine this WIFI solar cell or the size of a playing card ... "
